Brewster Salmon Derby Planning for 2027 – Celebrating Our 20th Derby!

Mark your calendars for July 30 – August 1, 2027!

We’re excited to announce that planning is underway for the 2027 Brewster Salmon Derby, celebrating our 20th derby here in beautiful Brewster, Washington, on the Columbia River!

After two challenging years of canceled events due to salmon fishing restrictions and closures, we’re looking forward to welcoming anglers, families, sponsors, and friends back to Brewster for another exciting weekend of fishing, competition, and community fun.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Our planning committee is already working behind the scenes to make the 2027 Brewster Salmon Derby a memorable event.

The derby is tentatively scheduled for July 30, 31, and August 1, 2027, subject to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) fishing seasons and regulations.

Whether we’re fishing for Chinook salmon, sockeye salmon, or adjusting our format to match the available fishing opportunities, our goal remains the same: to bring anglers together for a fun, family-friendly fishing tournament on the Columbia River.

Final tournament details, eligible species, boundaries, rules, and registration information will be announced once fishing seasons and regulations are confirmed.

Welcoming Back Our Nonprofit Host!

We’re especially pleased to announce the return of the Brewster, Bridgeport, Pateros Senior Citizens Center as our nonprofit host for the 2027 Brewster Salmon Derby!

The Senior Center has been an important part of our derby’s history, and we’re grateful to have them involved once again.

Their participation reinforces what this event has always been about — bringing people together, supporting our local communities, and making a positive difference beyond the fishing tournament itself.

More Than Just a Fishing Tournament

For nearly two decades, the Brewster Salmon Derby has been about much more than catching the biggest fish.

It’s about bringing families together, supporting local businesses, welcoming visitors to our community, and sharing the incredible salmon fishing opportunities available in North Central Washington.

Over the years, the derby has also helped support local scholarships, youth activities, and community organizations.

We’re proud of that tradition and look forward to continuing it in 2027.
