MATERIALS WE USE IN PRODUCTION OF OUR PRODUCTS

CLEAR VINYL- We have purchased our clear vinyl from several sources in the years we have been manufacturing our covers.  The prices vary quite a lot from one store to the other. We did find ONLINE FABRIC that sold rolls of the clear 16 and 20 gauge vinyl. We also found Walmart carries rolls of the sizes we need and at a lower cost than most other places but it is not always available. We just this year 2108 found a business in Washington State Achilles USA, Inc, that manufactures vinyl. Thanks to a local store Grovers Building Supplies in Brewster, Wa who turned me on to this company. Now all of our vinyl will come from them as their prices and availability is what our company requires. And with that, all of our clear vinyl will be the 19 gauge double polished vinyl.

We have used 2 gauges (sizes)of clear vinyl. 16 gauge is a lighter material that is premium double polished and is great for the sleeves and flasher and dodger covers we make. Hooks have more potential to go through this material.  20 gauge material is what we use for the lure covers. Hooks will penetrate this material but not usually in regular use. As stated above, we just started buying the 19 gauge Double-Polished Clear with UVI that is made in America in a factory in Everett WA -Achilles. We were so excited to find this business that actually makes vinyl in the USA. All of our new products going forward that use clear vinyl will be the 19 gauge vinyl. HOOK AND LOOP FASTENERS 

We have used several brands since our beginnings. We started with WBC industries and bought both the WBC brand which is imported and very much more low cost and the Velcro Brand made in the USA. We recently purchased hook and loop from Halco that has a store in Northern California. Very fast delivery and every size and color we may need. Their product is all imported and is very low-cost comparatively.

History - How Hook & Loop Was Invented

The amazing discovery of Hook and Loop was first made in 1941 by a Swiss Engineer. During a walk in the country with his dog he noticed how difficult it was to detach the barbs (seeds) of the cocklebur plant from his clothing and his dog. The Swiss engineer also being an inventor took a closer look at this extraordinary plant. From this he observed that the seeds -sac was made up of tiny hooks which attached themselves to clothing fiber, animal hair and even human hair.
